Abergavenny Food Festival is celebrated every year between September in the town of Abergavenny in Wales(UK). The festival was started in 1999, by two local farmers, Chris Wardle and Martin Orbach, in the results of the BSE crisis.
In recent times the celebration has more popular and attracted more visitors from all over the country and from abroad. This festival is awarded as National Tourism Awards “Best Event in Wales 2013/14 and Finalist of the “Best Event in Wales 2015” and one of the leading food events in the UK.
The award-winning festival show over 200 stalls of the best food and drink makers, a wide range of professional food presentations and a line-up of well-known chefs, invite over more than 30,000 visitors each year in the beautiful market town.
Getting here :
By Car : The M4 from London, the South-East and Home Counties, the A40 via the Cotswolds, Gloucester and Monmouth; the M6, M5, M50 and A40 from the North and Midlands or through the Welsh Marches by way of the A449, A465 or A46.
By Coach : There are regular long-distance services to Newport (contact your National Express travel agent) connecting with National Welsh and Red and White services.
By Rail : Abergavenny is served by frequent train services on the Cardiff to Manchester line. Connections from London Paddington, Bristol and the South West of England are available at Newport. Connections from Birmingham at Hereford.
The station is a five to ten minute, relatively level walk to the Festival and our Festival Crew will be on hand to direct you.
By Air : Cardiff Airport is the gateway to Wales with many key destinations served by airlines including Aer Lingus, Flybe, KLM and Vueling. There are good public transport links from the Airport which will make it easy for you to get to the event.
