Beauval Zoo Tour

The ZooParc de Beauval is a French zoological park in Saint-Aignan, Central France. The zoo also is known as a Beauval zoo. The zoological park cover more than 35 hectares land and showcase more than 3,000 animals, which is one of the biggest animal homes in France and in Europe.

In the 1990s, the zoological park in France has been exhibiting the leucistic big cats, white tigers, and white lions. Today, the zoo is the home to the many rare and unique species in France, such as the okapi, the tree kangaroos, the koala and the giant panda.

Zoo spread into many zone which are represent it’s rare and unique species, such as:

La Savane Africaine :

The African Savannah habitat is showcased the large collection of African animals walking together. Split up from the visitors by rock ditches, 13 varieties of animals survive together here, like Grevy’s zebras,giraffes, wildebeest, ostriches,white rhinoceroses, marabou storks, reedbuck, two species of ibis, springbok, lechwe and Egyptian geese.

Australian House :

The Australian zone is one of the few sites in Europe where koalas and Goodfellow’s seen. There is also an aquarium tank, house to 1,500 species of fish from Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. In nearby outside enclosures, there are Parma wallabies and red kangaroos, both in huge enclosures.

Manatee Basin :

The habitat for a family of West Indian manatees and ZooParc de Beauval has one of the most successful breeding herds in Europe. The manatee tank is 26 degrees, 1000 liter water and 2 meters of glass around part of the tank. Also, the manatee pool is the home of the amazing Amazonian fish and river turtles. Each manatee consumes up to 50 kg of vegetation per day, preferring to eat lettuce, celery, and carrots.

Serre Tropicale des Singes :

This zone made to provide a home for some of the parks many primates. Some of the primate species present include the troop of chimpanzee and the . At the far end of the house is an area devoted to small primates, with emperor tamarin, pygmy marmoset, and the nocturnal tarsier.

Gorilla complex :

The Gorilla Complex is a massive 11-meter-tall greenhouse, home to free-flying ducks and birds such as toucans. There is a lagoon home to rays, and a large home for a family of the gorilla, with a large 9-meter space to enable the gorillas to climb.

Big cats :

The zone is the home of the Lion, Bengal tiger, Snow leopard, Jaguar, and Pumas.There are also spotted hyena near the big cat complex.

La Reserve Des Hippopotamus :

This exhibit is the home of the Hippopotamus, Nyala, and Red river hog. The exhibit is cover by massive Baobab trees and a net, spanning the entire enclosure. The exhibit also houses many African birds such as Hamerkop and Eurasian spoonbill.

By road :

– 2h15 from Paris through A10, A71 and A85 : Paris, Orléans then Vierzon, in the direction of Tours. Exit n°12 St Aignan. Then follow the road signs to the Zoo.

– 1h from Tours through A85.

– 45min from Blois through D675.

– 30min from Vierzon through A85.

Coaches shuttles(Connection from Blois):

Available from April to November, the coach connection from Blois Railway Station to the Zoo of Beauval takes into account the timetable of the SNCF (Paris Austerlitz – Blois trains), and stops at the villages of Cellettes, Cormeray and Contres.

Cost of the connection: 2€ (round trip: 4€) / duration: 55min.
