Buckingham Palace Tour

Buckingham Palace is the most important royal building in the England. It is the home of Her Majesty The Queen and is one of only a few working royal building left in the world. The castle is situated in the City of Westminster, and the palace is the centre of state functions and royal hospitality. It has been a major point for the British people at times of national ceremony and mourning.

The Guard ceremony Time is the best time to visit Buckingham Palace. In this time the Royal Guards change their shifts. It is an 45-minute small ceremony, in which the visitor sees the red-suited guards, prepared with their legendary bearskin hats and followed by a marching band, and march via Wellington Barracks to the palace.

“The Changing of the Guard occurs daily at 11:30am, but can be canceled in bad weather.

Those visitor, who wants to look inside the lavish palace will have to wait for the annual Buckingham Palace Summer Opening, when the queen takes her yearly tour to Scotland. During this time, visitors can view into the luxurious state rooms, see the Throne Room and walk through the palace gardens and visit Queen Victoria’s Picture Gallery.

“If the Union Jack flag is flying atop Buckingham Palace, it means the queen is in residence; otherwise, the Royal Standard flag is flown.

The palace is open to the visitor during the summer from late July until the end of September, with tours operating daily from 9:30am to 7:30pm (6:30pm in September).
