Marwell Zoo

Marwell Zoo is in Owslebury near Winchester in the English state of Hampshire. This Zoo is owned and operated by the authorized charitable organization Marwell Wildlife. This zoo is residence of over 1,200 animals of 235 unique species. The charitable trust undertakes a variety of educative and conservation pursuits with a specific target on Africa in inclusion to operate from its base.

Zoo is home of endangered Amur tigers to majestic giraffes. Zoo’s 140-acre zoo is home to an incredible range of exotic and endangered species. Including:

1. Giraffes – towering above you in the giraffe house

2. Penguins – flying underwater at Penguin Cove

3. Tigers – beautiful, ferocious and intriguing!

4. Meerkats – foraging near Cafe Graze

5. Snow Leopards – a watchful eye at Roof of the World

6. Cheetahs – strolling around Savannah Tracks

7. Hippos – bobbing in our semi-aquatic mammal house

8. Rhinos – charging around their paddock

How to reach Marwell Zoo

By Road : Zoo is situated just off the B2177 between Colden Common and Bishops Waltham. Just follow the large brown tourist signs. If you’re planning a motorway route, then head off the M3 at J11 or the M27 at J10 (westbound) or J5 (eastbound).

By Bus : Travel by bus and Zoo will be delighted to reward you with a 10% discount on park entry when you show your ticket at admissions.
Runs direct to Marwell from Friday 25 March to Sunday 4 September on school holidays, weekends and bank holidays & offers an exclusive saving of 10% off zoo admission!
Bus departs from Eastleigh Railway Station for Marwell Zoo at: 10.25am, 11.25am, 12.25pm & 1.25pm
Bus departs from Marwell Zoo for Eastleigh Railway Station at: 2.47pm, 3.47pm, 4.47pm & 5.47pm
N.B. The bus will stop & pick up from Eastleigh Bus Station (2 minutes earlier), and Fair Oak, New Clock Inn along the route. In addition to the above timetable the first and last journeys of the day start and finish in Southampton City Centre at Vincent’s Way at 9.42am and 6.46pm.

By Rail : The nearest train stations are Southampton Airport Parkway (7 miles), Eastleigh (5 miles) and Winchester (8 miles).

By Taxi : Eastleigh co-operative taxis are Zoo preferred supplier and offer a 15% discount for passengers travelling to Marwell. They offer 4-8 seater vehicles as well as wheelchair accessible vehicles and can be reached on 02380 642321
